February Endorsement: Moles

As we all glide into a shiny new month, it seems appropriate to introduce The Daily Croak’s February endorsement:

The Exquisite Mole

Moles are fat little creatures that really like the dirt. They are small, soft, and have cultivated skills such as: digging (15-20 ft per hour!), eating grubs, and being underground (not claustrophobic).

Moles are also fat! These porky guys can eat 70 to 80 percent of their weight daily.

While moles may not be the most loved critter in the town due to the tunnels are mounds they create on lawns as a result of their digging, we are endorsing moles for a whole variety of certified reasons.

Reasons

A mole surfaces after a long 15-20 ft dig
  1. Moles provide environmental BENEFITS
    • – Moles aerate the soil while tunneling through the dirt.
  2. Lawns are NOT endorsed by The Daily Croak
    • – Lawns are a heinous waste of water most of the time
    • – Lawns are associated with golf, and golf is bad for small creatures, the environment, and also waste water
  3. Mole > Lawns. Moles are living creatures with individual lives and social dynamics. They are more important than your pristine lawn

Save the moles!

While moles are generally classified as species of “Least Concern”, we are still concerned. Our reports show that up to Multiple moles are killed every day by creepy lawn owners. We want to get that number to 0 at least.

How you can help

Educate your friends, family, and even strangers about moles (feel free to use facts from The Daily Croak)!

Limit the instances you kill moles. This will help decrease mole mortalities in your area.

Consider Adopting a Mole! While the money towards your adopt a mole kit may not go towards moles, the thought really does count.
